The article is devoted to the economic processes taking place in the
framework of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO). The author concludes
that despite many difficulties existing in the work of this organization, SCO presents the great potential for further economic development of the participating countries and
indicates areas of cooperation in which the countries-SCO members are interested much more.
