The process of regional integration is rapidly developed on every continent. Integration experience of relatively new integration associations arouses special interest in the context of constantly changing geopolitical architecture. The article analyzes the stages of regional integration on the South American and Eurasian continents, history of development of MERCOSUR and the Eurasian Economic Union, their institutional structure. Basing on the conducted research work the common features typical to both integration blocks were identified.
