Klimovich L.V.

Abstract

The article addresses the history of formation and activities of the Society of the former students of the Imperial Alexander Lyceum in emigration. Describing the motives of the students for preserving their unity abroad, the author comes to a conclusion that the Society had a corporate character and was dedicated to the preservation of prerevolutionary Russia historical memory, thus becoming a unique example of the social and memorial activities of an emigrant community. The article is based on archival documents of the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History in Brussels, to which the lyceum students donated the collected documents and artifacts in the 1930s.
