The Russians in the Moscow Region: Ethnic Picture in the Current Dynamics

Abstract

The article describes the results of the quantitative and qualitative research, aimed at studying the structure and content of ethnic self-consciousness of the Russian population of Moscow and the Moscow Oblast in the context of labor migration in the region. The objectives of the project were to develop a generalized understanding of the components of Russian identity, to identify and classify the problematic points of the ethnic relations represented in the Moscow region, to assess the potential for positive development of the migration situation as well as the factors and risks of its deterioration.
