Abstract

In recent decades, environmental problems have become international in terms of their existence and socio-economic impact. Climate and environmental problems have become a central topic on the international agenda. It is not only a question of cooperation and joint projects, but also of competition. Environmental standards, which are becoming stricter every year, are gradually pushing «non-green» companies and technologies out of the international market. Therefore countries that have not yet formed their own environmental agenda run the risk of leaving the international arena in the future. This is why the world's leading economies are seeking to tackle green issues. China has been at the forefront of these issues for a number of reasons, the most important of which have been increased urbanization, the densification of the urban population, and the negative effects of rapidly expanding industrial production. It also became evident then that overcoming these problems required effective international cooperation. Faced with the raging COVID-19 pandemic, frequent extreme weather events, and loss of biodiversity, countries around the world must realize that no country can remain invulnerable and that international cooperation is the only way out. The international community must make a concerted effort to promote development and security through mutually beneficial cooperation and governance in order to achieve better, more efficient, equitable, sustainable, and secure development and together build a community with a shared future for humanity.
