Reports of District County Governors of the Moscow Province About the Mood of the Population in 1914–1915

Abstract

The article analyzes reports of county governors about the mood of the population in the Moscow province at the beginning of the First World War. The main features and methods of formulating reports, their informativeness, the attitude of the Moscow governor and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to them have been studied. At the end of the article, a report of the county governor of Vereisky County for August 1915is presented.
