Russia and Turkey: a long way to Cooperation. Interview with Russian Consul General in Istanbul

Sbitneva A.I.

Abstract

The change in the current world order dictates new «rules of the game» to regional and extra-regional actors. The main role there will be assigned to original non- Western players. Modern Turkey occupies an intermediate position between the Western world, with which it is connected by years of «alliance», and the East. Interaction with Ankara, based on the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as the involvement of Turkey – one of Russia's main foreign policy partners – in the orbit of the non-Western world, falls on the shoulders of diplomats. They are the ones who know all the aspects of Russian-Turkish cooperation, can competently analyze the current state of affairs and assess the future prospects of bilateral activities.
