The review provides an insight into a new book by Trieste-based historian Marina
Rossi on the participation of nearly 6,000 Soviet partisans in the Liberation movement
in Italy. The subject is covered with consideration for the extant body of work analyzed by the author, as well as reference to archival sources and memoirs. The monograph represents a
significant contribution to the development of the subject of the participation of Soviet partisans
in the armed struggle of the Italian Resistance movement and paves the way for new
studies of this important page of the history of the World War II.
