The article is devoted to the analysis of the processes involved in the transition of the Republic of Uzbekistan to a model of innovative development. Emphasis is placed on the constructive role of the current authorities, who recognize the critical importance of implementing this agenda in line with global trends in the socio-economic development of states. In addition, the publication examines the objective and subjective prerequisites for this progressive transition, including the modernization of the legislative framework aimed at regulating and stimulating innovation in the country, as well as the strategies for the innovative development of the Republic. On the positive side, it is noted that the country is successfully developing a modern innovation infrastructure, including free economic zones, advanced development zones, venture funds, technology parks, innovation clusters, and business incubators. The article also provides a detailed analysis of the difficulties and shortcomings that impede rapid innovative development. Among them are the insufficient development of certain elements of the innovation infrastructure, the instability of innovation processes, the particularities of the mentality of national entrepreneurs, and corruption. In conclusion, the author expresses cautious optimism regarding the prospects for Uzbekistan’s innovative development.
