Social Aspects of the post-Soviet States' Independent Development (The 25th Anniversary of the CIS)

Abstract

Addressing the main aspects of social developments in the post-soviet states, the author analyzes the legacy of the past and the contrasts of the present-day social landscape. It is shown that the population is not ready to suffer inevitable hardships due to a low level of public confidence in the socio-economic policies, lack of a large middle class and inefficient system of the state social policies.
