Abstract

This article is about the court fight in the reign of the emperor Alexander I. The author analyses the ideas circulating in the court at different stages of Alexander’s reign and concludes that the court following these ideas, wanted to become closer to the throne and eliminate competitors, while Alexander used these differences as a system of «checks and balances».
