A new work by Czech historians on Russian emigration in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s–1930s

Kovalev M.V.

Abstract

The history of the Russian diaspora in Czechoslovakia in the 1920s–1930s has become the subject of numerous studies in the Czech humanities. It is noteworthy that young researchers today are turning to this research problem. An example of that is the reviewed collective monograph «Institutions and Actors of the Russian Interwar Emigration in Czechoslovakia» (2021). The scope of the authors’ tasks comprised an attempt to correlate personal and social experience in the history of Russian emigration in Czechoslovakia, as well as to show the role as persons (E.A. Lyatsky, A.V. Florovsky, I.I. Lapshin, N.E. Osipov, etc.), and institutions (the «Volya Rossii» journal, Russian gymnasiums). Particular attention was paid to the interaction of the Russians with the Czechoslovak environment.
