This paper concerns a subject which is very relevant today: ecosystems of modern media. Ecosystems are defined as structured relationships related to specific communities, in this case, to communities associated with work in the media sphere. The conversation about ecosystems in the media is based on the example of a collective scientific monograph published in Chelyabinsk in 2021. The author of the article analyzes the chapters of the book and comes to the conclusion that its general title does not quite correspond to the content. However, the importance of the stated topic is emphasized both for the development of modern domestic media and for the academic study of modern journalism.
