The New Russian Borderland: The post-Soviet Belarus in Socio-Anthropological Perspective

Abstract

The article analyses the post-Soviet policy of historical memory in Belarus Republic and its perception by the population in accordance with the system of life values. The analysis is based on statistic data and day-to-day narratives of people together with the researchers’ observations as a background. The field work is a part of the research project devoted to the construction of the historical memory and identity conducted by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2015–2017).
